On a very cold and windy day at Lightcliffe, Cleckheaton won the toss and chose to bat on a good wicket that had the potential for a lot of runs. A strong start from Yusuf Malik (26) and when he was joined by Kayne Whitehead (24no) for the 3rd wicket pairing things were looking good but some good bowling from Lightcliffe and some poor shots from Cleck' left the 2nd team 110 all out.

Lightcliffe started strong and had 48 runs on the board before Hudson Rowan (1-19) was able to break through for the first wicket. This was followed by a flurry of wickets by Elliott Hallas (4-21) who bowled very well and consistent in a tough situation, bringing the score to 78-5 at drinks. However, Lightcliffe dug in and were able to reach their target of 111 with 18 overs and 5 wickets remaining despite some valiant bowling by Captain Sam Bailey (0-17) and Elliott towards the end.

Another situation where the Cleck lads didn't have enough runs on the board to give themselves a fighting chance, something they will combat in training this week and implement next Saturday at home to Baildon.
