Priestley Shield preliminary round

After a disappointing opening day of the season, the second team visited local neighbours Scholes for the priestly shield prelim round (that’s a mouthful).

After a good warm up before the game and losing the toss to field first the Cleckheaton lads felt confident of a good display with the ball.

Scholes posted a score of 114/8 off their 40 over allocation with a special mention to young Jack Stansfield taking his first wicket for the Moorend club.

In response Cleckheaton eased to victory with losing only 3 wickets in 22.3 overs. Special mention to Scott Price after being in the firsts on Saturday to then posting 85 runs off 68 balls to secure a place in the first round next weekend.
